How to Join Spindles Car Club Spindles Auto Club, Established 1957 781-335-9754 The Spindles Auto Club was formed in 1957 with the purpose, as written in the club bylaws, to promote safe and sane driving, while also offering the facilities, equipment and training in automotive repairs and modification for those people having a desire for originality, inventiveness and ingenuity. You read that correctly - facilities - the club has a building with room for 28 cars. The club also has an air conditioned meeting room, pool table, tonic and candy machine, TV, stereo system, dart board, three bathrooms, burglar and fire alarm system, air compressor, tire machine, drill press, grinder, welder, torches, telephone, heat, lights, etc, etc. Just about everything you need for a 28 car garage. What kind of cars do the members own? Everything - antiques, street machines, modern classics, pro street, race cars, customs, street rods, cruisers - there are no restrictions. When are the club meetings? The club meeting are on the last Wednesday of each month at 7:30 PM at the club. Where is the club? 110 East Street in Weymouth, within a mile of the Fore River Bridge. Who can join the Spindles Auto Club? Any man or woman, 18 years or older can join. How much are the dues? The club has two different types of members: - Key holder at $15 per month - Spot holder (car inside club) at $120 per month What kinds of club activities are held during the year? Although many of the members go to car shows and cruise nights together, approximately 75% of the cars inside the club are "under construction". The one big event the club sponsors is a Car Show and Swap Meet on Labor Day Sunday. How can I join the club? Come down to any monthly meeting, introduce yourself and sign a waiver of liability. You will then have to pass a secret ballot vote at the next monthly meeting with less than two negative votes. Who can I contact Spindles if I need additional information?
